Local-First WebAssembly Architecture

When you use an application on Plasa.app, the entire tool runs directly inside your web browser via WebAssembly (compiled from pure Rust). Computation, rendering, and file operations happen on your device’s processor and graphics hardware (using WebGPU or WebGL2).

Unlike conventional cloud creative suites, Plasa.app does not run a remote rendering farm or background servers that receive your canvas data or project files.

Zero File Uploads

When you open a photo, vector drawing, video, PDF, or spreadsheet in any of our apps:

  • The file is read directly from your local disk into browser memory using standard HTML5 File APIs.
  • No bytes are uploaded to Plasa.app or any third-party server during import, editing, or rendering.
  • When you save or export your project, your browser triggers a standard local file download directly to your computer.

No User Accounts or Passwords

You do not need to register, create a profile, or provide an email address to use Plasa.app. We believe creative software should be as immediate and friction-free as opening a native desktop tool.

Browser Local Storage

Applications may use your browser’s local storage (such as localStorage or IndexedDB) exclusively on your device to:

  • Remember interface preferences (such as dark mode, panel arrangements, or recent tool settings).
  • Store temporary in-progress editing buffers so work is not lost if a tab is accidentally closed.

This data remains strictly stored on your computer and is never synced to external servers. You can clear this storage at any time via your browser’s cache and site settings.

No Tracking Cookies or Ad Networks

We do not use advertising networks, behavioral profiling trackers, or invasive surveillance scripts. There are no cross-site trackers tracking your activity.

Third-Party Services

Plasa.app links to external services such as GitHub (for source code and release downloads) and Discord (for community discussions). These third-party services operate independently under their own privacy policies.
